Owner Highlights...

J.H. and C.H. are a husband and wife team. I do the preparation and gathering, he does the pricing and buying. Together we do the shows. We have worked in all phases of the Boy Scout program, as well as some in the Girl Scout program. We are active in our faith and union responsibilities. We have staffed camps for all but the railroad union.

Between us, we have 60 years tenure as adult leaders in the BSA. We have been bestowed the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver. Together, we have earned a total of 18 other knots and awards in the Boy Scout program. All three of our sons have earned the Eagle Scout Award.

We love Scouting, because we can make a difference. Just as a ripple's rings spread, we hope our influence will spread for good. And besides if we don't take care of them (the young men), who will take care of us when we become unable to care for ourselves. Surely Social Security won't be able to do it.

We wish that others would become sold on the program of Scouting. In Scouting, it is a win-win situation. One team does not have to lose so the other can win, although there is a place in life for that too. If a Boy, or girl, tries to achieve in Scouting, they can. Scouting's rank achievements do not rely on another scout's activities. If they try, they do achieve, and on their own merit.
